Laura Goulian, LCSW
Laura Goulian, Licensed Clinical Social Worker, specializes in helping parents grapple with the challenges of raising children. Laura believes there is a satisfaction in parenting that can get lost in the everyday conflicts many families experience. Using a combination of solution-focused psychoeducation and cognitive behavioral principles, Laura believes parents become more optimistic and effective when they establish a coherent parenting strategy that promotes trust and respect within the family.
Working with adolescents, Laura uses the same approach to address social and academic pressure as well as explore the characteristics of satisfying relationships whether romantic, among friends, or within the family.
Laura is native of Asheville and holds a masters degree in social work from Catholic University in Washington, DC. When she is not contemplating her own parenting challenges, she can be found trying to finish a book, exercising with friends, or lingering over that rare meal when her whole family is able to sit down together.
